Imagine my pleasant surprise when I woke up to look into my Daddy's eyes as he held me and smiled. Poor Mommy hasn't been getting much sleep lately, and Daddy wanted to help her as well as spend a little time with me. His eyes were so much softer, and he wasn't angry like I've seen him. He whispered to me that it was Friday, as though it was a magical day.
Yellow Wings had that same look in her eyes also. She acted as though this day was as magical as the wings on her back. I don't understand what it means, but that's okay. I'm fine rocking back and forth in my chair looking at the animals above me spinning round and round with music.
Before he left, Daddy mentioned that he was relieved that this was his last day to go to work this week and that the next couple of days he'd be home. He mentioned there was a place he wanted to go to that his carpool drove by everyday.
Daddy was very relaxed today. Maintenance on the vehicles and alarms was up, so everything was as it should be. He was able to sit down and play games on the magical screen.
He was even excited about dabbing around with scrap parts and putting things together. Daddy was very good with fixing things and putting things together, and this was one thing he mentioned that he enjoyed doing in his spare time. He loves to create as much as likes to repair and improve.
There was an emergency that happened late during the day, but it was a small house fire. With the improved speed of the fire engine, he was able to get there quickly and put it out.
Temeka seemed a bit nicer today too. She had invited one of her friends over. Although I did catch Sis begging for money from her. She did get some money, but her friend left after that. Sis had mentioned that she wanted to make some more muffins and enter that bake sale.
Yes, Friday is a special day for my family. Everyone is happy, and Daddy loves to treat everyone to a big, hot pie that he calls pizza. The pizza looked bigger than me! Daddy promised me that I would get to have some pizza when I got older, and that he was going to continue this Friday tradition of pizza. "Besides," he said, "it's the weekend!"
The end of what? So many things to learn. |

I know it's wrong but now all I can think of is a certain song written about Friday....
