I remember Mommy waking up early to take care of me. I hadn't cried or screamed. In fact, I think she was taking care of me so that I wouldn't have to cry or scream. This made Daddy very happy, because he was able to get some much needed sleep
Suddenly -- and perhaps I was dreaming again -- Mommy had run outside again to look at those same mysterious lights.
The lights took Mommy away again! It must be a dream; it has to be a dream! What do they want with my Mommy?
Mommy was inside the house later, so maybe it was all a dream. She wanted to watch television, though, and it was broken. Daddy was really good at fixing things, so he found out what was wrong and got it working again.
Even though the television was now fixed, Mommy was interested in the town events happening in the next few days. Daddy was busy upgrading his fire extinguisher, so that he could be more productive when fighting the fires.
Mommy decided that she just wanted to get out of the house for awhile. She needed a break, and Daddy wanted to fix some things around the house. She called for a cab to take her into town.
In town, Mommy went to the library to do some studying with books about cooking. She hasn't been too happy burning dinner, and Daddy and Sis weren't very happy having to eat it either.
Temeka was so unhappy that she decided to bake a muffin in her room. The sweet taste was just enough to get the gross taste of ash off of her tongue. (Was Mommy's cooking really that bad? Glad I have my bottle!)
Temeka wanted to get out of the house too.
Temeka: "Dad, I want to go to the movies. Can I go? Please?" Daddy thought about it, but he saw no reason to deny her request. We lived in an odd town, but it wasn't dangerous. Marlon: "Sure. You be careful and watch yourself on the street, okay? Call us if you need anything." I'm not sure what movie my sister went to go see, because she didn't talk about it later. I'm not even sure if she liked it. I think she just wanted to get out of the house before having to go back to school tomorrow.
I know Mommy went to the bookstore, though. She talked about the new book she bought after she got home tonight. It was a communication book to help her with her job when she returns back to work.
She mentioned how she went to the Summer Festival and started talking to the residents there. Meeting, knowing, and talking with people is very important with her job.
She didn't need to cook tonight either, because she joined a hot dog eating contest. She didn't win, but she certainly was full!
It was getting late, and my tough sister made sure there wasn't any monsters under her bed. That's brave, because I won't be checking under my crib. Of course, I'm too small to even climb out of this thing. But then again, I wouldn't want to. The world can be a scary place, and I feel safe right here.
My sister, on the other hand...
I heard her as she ran into the front room. |

I hope the baby doesn't grow up to be timid. He has horrible dreams without understanding, his Mom is captured by aliens and his sister monster hunts under the bed. I wonder what she found.
