It was a beautiful day today, from what I could barely see from my crib looking out the window. Mommy got up early to make pancakes for breakfast.
My sister was busy driving to school... or a field trip... or anyplace else actually. A couch and the imagination, and you can go anywhere!
Everyone was going on a field trip today. Temeka was headed off to school, and she was very excited about their trip today. Mommy had a field trip around town with other politicians as they search for ways to improve the town.
And Daddy... well, he was still at the fire station keeping it all together and trying to stay sane. Apparently, everyone was fired and he was left alone. He did get promoted to Fire Captain, though. Luckily, there were no emergencies today, so he had plenty of opportunity to get the fire engine upgraded.
My field trip was with Yellow Wings. It involved being carried around the house... and put back into my crib. At one point, however, I could've sworn we were floating through the air.
Temeka and her classmates were anxious for their field trip today.
They were going to the theatre to see a ballet of people dancing. They are supposedly so light on their feet that they almost float on stage -- a lot like my friend, Yellow Wings.
Daddy took a field trip away from the fire station. He was finally coming home!
After work when Mommy dismissed Yellow Wings and was caring me, she got a phone call from a man in the office who wanted to go on a field trip with her. Mommy called it a date, and she had to politely tell him no because she was already married to Daddy. Speaking of which, he just got home.
Mommy sat down on the couch with me, and we watched the magic screen together. She calls it television, but I find it magical to see people moving on the screen.
Soon, Daddy was sitting with us and we were watching the weather channel. The funny man on the magic screen was talking about warm weather for the next few days followed by hell. Or was that hail?
Temeka was admiring herself in the new mirror she received as a gift from the theatre for her participation. Temeka was so active in her participation that her teacher had to tell her to sit down and keep quiet several times.
Sis couldn't keep her excitement contained, apparently. She was washing the dishes too hard or something, because it broke the sink.
Marlon: "Is something wrong, Temeka?"
Temeka bit her nails and trembled a bit. Then she said, Temeka: "Nope. Everything is fine." Still glued to the television, Marlon said, Marlon: "Okay. Well come sit down with us, and we can watch a show together as a family."
And she did. We all sat together and watched the box with the magic screen. In a sense, we had a family field trip with that magic screen.
And then Mommy surprised me with a field trip to a new changing table she bought. Fresh, scented powder and a clean diaper, and I was very happy and ready for bed. We all were.
Except Mommy, who likes to stay up late. She made herself a Cookies & Cream flavored ice cream cone. It looked yummy. |

Haha poor Tameka...I loved the look on her face in that picture!
ReplyDeleteAlso I never understood the hail thing in the middle of summer.
Broken sinks and little lies... Tameka, bad girl. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe field trip on TV was cute.
Temeka's look is priceless! The look says "Oh crap, what did I do?"
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, the hail was odd. I thought it was interesting that you have all these high temperatures and then hail. I figured I would work it into the story, and I'm also interested to see if the hail actually DOES fall when that day comes. Also, it's actually HOTTER on the day of the hail.
