Day 20: Long Nights, Flames, and Friends

It was a morning without Daddy. Mommy and Sis woke up and had breakfast. Sis was busy watching the nice, new magic screen that Daddy bought the other day.
At the fire station, Daddy worked on his muscles. There was a new, metal rod installed in which you pull yourself up and over several times. Daddy was thankful to have this installed, because this was a part of his body he needed to work on. He also needed to lead by example, because the city promoted him as the new Fire Chief! I think Mommy had something to do with that.
It was a rough workout, and he needed a shower afterwards.
His shower was cut short due to a major emergency. Daddy quickly dried off, although not completely. It didn't matter, because the fire was either going to dry him out or cause him to sweat and get wet again anyway.
Daddy arrived at a very large house that had three people inside that needed help escaping. He focused on putting out the fire coming from the windows, so that he could force his way inside and save the trapped people.
Meanwhile, my sister was invited by her friend Zack to go over to his house after school.
Once they arrived, Temeka was impressed by the size. "Wow! You have a huge house, Zack!" she said. Zack nodded, but he didn't seem to care that his house was big or not. In fact, he had responded to Temeka that he rather liked our small home. With a small home, the familiy tends to be together more. Zack felt rather lonely in this big house, because his family was spread throughout.
Although it was tempting to run around and explore, Temeka decided to get her homework done so she didn't get into trouble. But as she did her homework, she had an idea.
She asked Zack and her mom if it was okay to spend the night. Zack's mom said it was perfectly fine and that she would call our mom to make sure it was okay, so that Temeka could go play with Zack and his sister Zoe.
Daddy had spent hours trying to put out that massive fire. There was a concern that it was beyond one man to do it alone.
A pale face man was hissing and screamed, "My house!!" Another man wearing a black vest screamed, "My car!!" A third man screamed, "My magazines!!"

The previous two men turned to glare at the other.
Daddy did get the fire out, but it was very late by the time he came home. Temeka was excited about spending the night at her friend's, and she found a room that she could roll out her sleeping bag and go to bed. She was a bit scared, though, because the full moon was out and gave an eerie, green glow. She thought she heard monsters, and there was no bed to look under!
