It wasn't just Annalove that Marlon spent the night at the station. He also wanted to work some more with scrap, building, and inventing things. Although he had the money to buy a work table such as this, there was no room for it at home. As it was, he couldn't find a place to put his wine press that he bought from France. Mmm, he could almost smell the fresh air and aroma from the morning bakeries there.
Meggan didn't have to go in to City Hall today. It was a great opportunity to scoop up Dillon in her arms and go to Performance Park to see the new talent.
Promising, Meggan thought, but they still have a lot more practicing to do. Meggan wondered what it might be like to live the life of a performer. Must be carefree and without responsibility. It was enticing, in a way, to Meggan. However, someone needed to bring order to this town. Nobody else was doing a good enough job, so it might as well be her! Still, she wondered if there was more to life than order. A loud siren blared by on the street. How rude!
It wasn't Marlon's intention of being rude. In fact, he thought nothing of it. A fire was happening, and he had to get there quickly to put it out.
During the performances, Meggan took the opportunity to get to know the host more. She asked if she might host an event one of these days. It might be good for her political career to get involved more aspects with the community.
The green glow from the full moon and odd sounds at night was enough to convince Meggan that it was time to head home. She wasn't done socializing, though. She called up the babysitter to get to know her a little more.
Before bed, Meggan realized that there was one person in her life she hadn't spent much time with. As she lay in bed, she put her hand on her husband's head and stroked his hair. He was exhausted. |
