Day 39: Faerie Flying on Friday

There was a squeaking noise coming from outside. It sounded like a cross between a gurgling and a squeaky toy.
Temeka went outside to investigate. It was a racoon, and it was so cute! Temeka reached out to pet the creature, but it slithered back. It glared at Temeka with distrusting eyes, turned around, and went away. Temeka was a bit saddened. Unlike people, Temeka didn't wish to pull pranks on animals. Animals fascinated her. She wondered why her parents hadn't bought a dog or cat already. Even a bird or fish would do!
She had read in the newspaper that chocolate and vanilla flavors were not as popular as alternates. Temeka was wanting to sell some of her baked goodies this weekend, so she started a new batch of muffins with blueberries.
Marlon woke up with a start. Odd dream. He pulled out a bottle of magic dust that a faerie had given him many weeks ago. He had wanted to see what it did, but was unsure about it.
This morning, he figured why not. It's the end of the week, and I'm getting rather depressed with everything going on.
It took mere seconds, and then a redish-white aura surrounded Marlon. He was glowing. Something was happening. It felt like his cares were being lifted away. In fact, he himself was being lifted away!
Dillon, all snug in his crib, looked over at his father. Daddy is flying! He's almost like Yellow Wings!
And off he flew! Marlon flew down the street and felt as lucky as the faeries. He wanted to test these new powers at the casino before flying in to work. Now that was an odd thing to think about.
Marlon was certainly lucky. He won over $5000 with his gambling!
"I gotta go to work. Time to fly!" Marlon just loved how that sounded.
Later, Marlon even flew to the rescue at a house that was on fire. I feel just like Superman!
And just like Superman, Marlon was a hero. Especially in the eyes of Annalove, who was also there at the house fire. She could make Marlon feel like flying without the magic dust. He seems really happy and gay today, she smiled at Marlon.
Meggan didn't need such things as faerie dust. She was the governor, and she had citizens to meet to gain their support. She was invited to a party tonight, and she wasn't going to let this opportunity pass.
This was exciting to Meggan. Meeting new people, hearing their stories, and learning all about them. These were the people she was representing!
Marlon had ordered his Friday Night Pizza. It was a shame that his wife had to leave for the evening. Well, it was more for him and Temeka. He still had a couple jars of magic dust left, and he thought about sprinkling some on the pizza. Nah, the pizza was pretty good the way it was.
