Hiatus

Note from author:

I need to put the story on a hiatus for a little bit due to real life issues such as school and my computer. I recently bought a new, 2 TB hard drive so that I could have plenty of room for my Sims games. However, it means I would need to reinstall everything, which I don't have the time to do at the moment due to my college studies. I do have a few other "days" I can post of the story, so I'll get those up soon. Once I am back up and running, then I'll remove this post and keep the story going.

Don't worry. I'm not going to give up on the Tempests! They are like family to me, and I want to see where they go in life. For now, take the time to catch up on days that you missed and read some of my other stories.

Thanks for following the story, and we'll see the Tempests return soon!

Day 69: Lifting of the Curse

Meggan awoke to a pleasing site. The curse had been lifted. She was not grotesque anymore, although she was still pale in skin with eyes that glowed with fire.
Meggan returned home, but she was in the mood to hunt. She certainly couldn't hunt her family, so she attacked the snowman outside instead.
It did seem to satisfy the beast inside her, but she still didn't feel ready to go inside. She saw the igloo that Temeka had built and decided this was a good place to get some sleep until her husband had left for work.
Temeka was excited. School had closed and she celebrated by dropping into the snow and making an angel. Others would find this a contradiction to Temeka's character.
Meggan felt it had been long enough, and she returned inside to her home. Temeka didn't seem to act any differently to her return. It was almost as if her departure was normal and attributed to her work.

Work. Yeah, that was the last thing she wanted to think about. She turned on the television and was welcomed to a movie about vampires.
When Marlon came home, he gave his wife a hug of relief. He had been so worried about her, and the visions he kept having about her were so discomforting. He was glad that things weren't as bad as he had thought.
Although things weren't as normal as Marlon had hoped. He wasn't aware, but Meggan needed to feed. She didn't want to feed on her family, so she attended a party that she was invited to and fed there.

Day 68: A Grim Return

As Marlon came closer and closer to Moonlight Falls, the more darker and grimmer it became. I moved here? What in the world was I thinking?
Meggan didn't know what to do. She wanted the curse to go away, but she had to feed. She was so thirsty! She passed out from weakness on the side of the road. She couldn't go on much longer. Curse or no curse, she needed fresh plasma and she needed it now!
She had found a poor soul wandering around the graveyard. It was just bad timing for him. Meggan approached him, put him under a trance, apologized, and began feeding. She truly was sorry she had to do this. Perhaps that would be enough to keep the spell from lasting longer?
As Meggan was being apologetic, Dillon's babysitter was being rather mischievous. Although she was an angel to Dillon, she was a bit sneaky with Temeka. Temeka was tricked into receiving a cold spell. Serves the little prankster right!
After the babysitter had left, Marlon and Temeka had a fun time talking with each other. Marlon told her all about the fun adventures he had in France, while Temeka explained that mother wasn't home hardly at all. Temeka said that she could never get a good look at mom, because there was always some haze or something. They both learned though that neither one liked it here in Moonlight Falls. Temeka even went so far to beg her dad to take her with him next time. She couldn't stand it here!
Meggan couldn't stand it any longer. She couldn't be out here! It's not like the cold weather bothered her. On the contrary, it was rather comfortable. She simply had urges to be mean to whoever crossed her line of sight (and her sight had improved quite a bit since the past several days), and she had to simply remove herself from the temptation. She ran as fast as she could back to the Van Gould mansion where she could find sanctuary until the curse was lifted. If it ever lifted.

Day 67: One Final Day of Rest

It was Marlon's last day in France. He was going to enjoy every last bit of it. After having some breakfast, he walked outside and spoke to another traveler. Apparently she was getting away from her spouse too. Marlon enjoyed her company, and each of them had some great laughs together.
Marlon was grateful for the scooter that was loaned to him during his stay in France. He was going to make one more stop for the day, and it was going to be a return trip to the winery.
Marlon didn't get a chance to play with the machine the last time he was here. Not this time! He was going to make his own wine this time, and he simply enjoyed the squishing the fruit in between his toes. This was certainly going to stain his skin for a few days.
Once all the grapes had been squashed, he proceeded to crank the machine up to process the wine.
It broke down, however. Marlon was thankful for his skills in mechanics, because he was able to repair the machine and get it going with no trouble.
He didn't think his wine turned out very well, though. It was his first batch, anyway. He was sure to improve! He just needed to come back again. He may have to if life continued to be a mess at home. Maybe he'll bring Temeka with him this time. He felt like he needed to spend time with his daughter a bit more.
Before leaving, Marlon went downstairs into the cellar and had found a well. It was full of wine, but he thought it would be fun to go for a dive when nobody was looking. He'd smell like a drunk, but then everyone visiting here smelled like that.
Evening approached, and Marlon wanted to get away from the base camp. He wanted to make his own camp, and he found just the spot! It was quiet, secluded, and had a wonderful firepit. He warmed himself, roasted some food, and had a nap before it was time to head back home. He wasn't looking forward to what was awaiting him.

Day 66: Discovery Waiting To Be Found

Today was meant to be a relaxing day. Marlon wasn't going to involve himself in anymore adventures. That didn't mean exploring, though. An old house with a small barn lay on the outskirts of town. It had been abandoned, but it was enough to gain Marlon's curiosity. He noticed some huge boulders that appear to be covering something, but he had no way to move or crush them. Perhaps a discovery for another time? Until, then he was going to check out the barn.
Marlon was glad that he did, because he found some treasure underneath hidden by haystacks.
Marlon spent the rest of the day relaxing, thinking, and pondering about what he would do when he got back home. He vaguely remembered his beautiful wife being disfigured or mutated, but that had to have been a dream. Right? He wasn't sure of anything anymore. He felt at peace here, but Moonlight Falls was anything but peace. He was beginning to realize that moving there was a mistake. He had better get some sleep. He had one more day here in France to think things through.

Day 65: A Soul At Rest

Marlon headed back to the museum. The sounds he had heard came from beneath the building. There had to be a way down, and he had found it. There was a hidden switch in the wall which opened up a forgotten door.
Marlon made his way under the museum and found a room with ancient relics. Most importantly, he had found a sign written by a man who had been trapped down here. He couldn't find a way out, and he knew he was dying. He wrote a note that his remains be burried with his family at the cemetary.
The note directed Marlon to a chamber which had the remains.
Marlon found the urn that contained the remains of the poor, lost man. Not only did Marlon discover what was haunting the museum, but he had also discovered a way out too!
Once Marlon was safely on the surface, he made his way to the cemetery.
He found the family burials towards the rear of the cemetery, and he placed the urn and soul to rest with its family.

Day 64: Things That Go Bump

Marlon woke up refreshed and was ready for some adventure. He saw on the adventure board that a merchant at the relic shop needed help. He went into the store and spoke with the merchant. He explained that the museum was having a hard time keeping people employed there for security due to strange noises. Marlon had been to the museum before, so he was excited to head back and see what had changed.
Well, not much had changed. He did find some chinese artifacts upstairs that were used for martial arts, though. He played around with it until he had heard some sounds coming from the next room.
Marlon had thought that it was coming from the egyptian artifacts, but realized that it hadn't. It was coming from below somewhere. Interesting how the sounds didn't seem to bother him. His emotions must be numb to them considering where he had been living the past couple of months. He'll need to report back to the merchant and let him know what he discovered. That was enough for today, though. He was going to take time to relax too!
